“I have come to accept the feeling of not knowing where I am going. And I have trained myself to love it. Because it is only when we are suspended in mid-air with no landing in sight, that we force our wings to unravel and alas begin our flight. And as we fly, we still may not know where we are going to. But the miracle is in the unfolding of the wings. You may not know where you’re going, but you know that so long as you spread your wings, the winds will carry you.”

“Lil Wayne isn’t known for being censored, but his line in Future’s new track “Karate Chop” has angered people who feel he disrespected Civil Rights icon Emmett Till. Till, 14, was brutally beaten to death in 1955 for allegedly whistling at a white woman in Mississippi.

In ‘Karate Chop’, Wayne raps “I pop a lot of pain pills/beat that p*ssy up like Emmett Till”.

The Mayme Till Mobley Memorial Foundation is petitioning for Clear Channel to remove the song, claiming it “disrespects the family of Emmett Till, our ancestors, women and our race!” ” (Urbaninformer.com)

This is just absolutely ridiculous. I am not a Lil Wayne fan, but I do find myself singing along to many of his lyrics. This one is just too far. Being an African American man, he should know better. Wayne thinks its appropriate to reference this in a sexual lyric? Disgraceful. Continue reading

Michael Todd Anti-Aging Face Lift

       Image

Probably the worst high-end face cream Ive ever tried on MY skin. I emphasize “MY” because it may work for other people, but it doesnt work for me. Firstly, Im fairly young, so an anti-aging face cream isnt something that I necessarily feel I have to speed to the stores and find immediately. I think mid-20s is a good age to start trying to take a few more steps with your skincare routine to prepare for your 30s. I did that. Continue reading
